Historic Floating Lighthouse Studio in the London Docklands

About

A unique venue, this floating lighthouse is a former lighthouse ship built in 1938, constructed from riveted steel. Measuring 134 feet (just over 40 metres) in length with a 25-foot beam, she weighs in at 519 tons, with her iconic tower rising 15 metres above water level.

Having retired from lighthouse service in 2004, the ship has since been sympathetically converted into a versatile studio and location for photography and filming. It offers an array of distinctive environments, from the raw, industrial feel of the riveted steel machine room to the cosy and intimate spaces of the galley and mess room. The original crew cabins have been preserved, complete with their vintage furnishings, adding authentic character to the space.

The two-inch teak deck is adorned with original features, including bitts, ropes, and steel chains. For breathtaking views, the lighthouse tower and wheelhouse provide a panoramic outlook over the Royal Docks.

This floating venue is ideal for creative productions, offering a mix of rugged industrial charm and historical authenticity.
